Columbian president Gustavo Petro surrendered to all American demands.

After President of Columbia Gustvo Petro refused two cargo planes with a large number of Columbian Illegal Criminals to lend in Columbia in a post on X, he said he would not accept American planes deporting migrants back to his country until the US establishes a protocol for the dignified treatment of migrants.

“The US cannot treat Colombian migrants as criminals,” Petro wrote in his post. In another post, Petro seemed to suggest the problem was the migrants being sent back on military planes, saying: “We will receive our fellow citizens on civilian planes, without treating them like criminals.

After being informed of refused plane lending’s, the president Trump on his Truth Social network posted:

Large number of Illegal Criminals, were not allowed to land in Colombia

“I was just informed that two repatriation flights from the United States, with a large number of Illegal Criminals, were not allowed to land in Colombia. This order was given by Colombia’s Socialist President Gustavo Petro, who is already very unpopular amongst his people. Petro’s denial of these flights has jeopardized the National Security and Public Safety of the United States, so I have directed my Administration to immediately take the following urgent and decisive retaliatory measures:

-Emergency 25% tariffs on all goods coming into the United States. In one week, the 25% tariffs will be raised to 50%.

-A Travel Ban and immediate Visa Revocations on the Colombian Government Officials, and all Allies and Supporters.

-Visa Sanctions on all Party Members, Family Members, and Supporters of the Colombian Government.

-Enhanced Customs and Border Protection Inspections of all Colombian Nationals and Cargo on national security grounds.

-IEEPA Treasury, Banking and Financial Sanctions to be fully imposed.

These measures are just the beginning. We will not allow the Colombian Government to violate its legal obligations with regard to the acceptance and return of the Criminals they forced into the United States!”

In a press release later on White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on Truth Social posted that the Government of Colombia has agreed to all of President Trump’s terms based on the agreement and included image of statement saying:

  • fully drafted IEEPA tariffs and sanctions would be held in reserve and not signed unless the Colombia government failed to honour the agreement.
  • visa sanctions” issued by the State Department would remain in place until the first planeload of Colombian deportees is successfully returned. Leavitt also noted that “today’s events make clear to the world that America is respected again.” The press release comes after Colombian President Gustavo Petro backed down on refusing to accept two deportation flights from the U.S. and said he would “send his presidential plane to personally pick up the deported migrants.”
  • The government of Colombia has agreed to all of President Trump’s terms, including the unrestricted acceptance of all illegal aliens from Colombia returned from the United States, including on U.S. military aircraft, without limitation or delay.

In the last part of her statement press secretary warned other countries saying “Today’s events make clear to the world that America is respected again. President Trump will continue to fiercely protect our nation’s sovereignty, and he expect all other nation of the world to fully cooperate in accepting deportation of their citizens illegally presents in the United States.”
